Teachers

Patty Kiely
Exercise has been a part of my life for 25 years . A neighbor asked me to teach kickboxing at his Dojo

and the professional side of it began in 1997. I became certified in group fitness through AFAA  in 1998 .

In 1999 I became a certified Personal Trainer also Through AFAA  . I started teaching many different

classes in gyms and became interested in Yoga . I visited a few Ashrams and found Kripalu yoga was the

one that fit I became certified in in 2001.

I did so much damage to my joints with high intensity aerobics and kickboxing and had many

surgeries.   When I was diagnosed with cancer a friend convinced me that Bikram yoga would help me

heal from the many treatments that involved . I fell instantly in love with my Hot Yoga practice. I believe

it did help me heal and it was the first high intensity that I craved that never hurt me. It changed my life

so I decided to become a Bikram Yoga teacher and pass on this life changing gift.

I now combine these two Traditions to give my students a Hot Hatha Yoga class that is the best of

both worlds. All levels are welcome to attend to begin transforming their life.

Kim Cummins

I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. I focused on deepening my practice after having children & found yoga as a great way to balance my mind & body. I became certified to teach yoga through Lotus Gardens in Sherman in 2013. I teach yoga to all levels from beginners to advanced students. My favorite style of teaching is power yoga where I find all the benefits of traditional yoga, deep stretching, breathing techniques, finding inner peace all mixed with an intense work out.

Faith Ficarra

Faith Ficarra completed her 200 hour yoga certification in 2014 at Yoga Culture in Danbury. Her philosophy as a teacher is to create an environment in which students are able to slow down and learn. She wants to show students its not about simply moving through poses, but to give them a greater understanding of why we practice a pose a certain way, enabling them to challenge themselves while experiencing the deeply therapeutic effects of Yoga.

Raffaela Arcamone

She began her yoga journey four years ago in an effort to free herself of chronic low back pain. After trying a variety of styles, she found Vinyasa yoga with Iyengar alignment offered her an environment to learn and grow. It is this self discovery and connection with the mind and body that Raffaela encourages each of her students to take.

In 2014, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification at Yoga Culture in Danbury, CT. She guides her students to open their mind and body to their personal journey of play, discovery and self-awareness - on and off the mat. Raffaela continues to enjoy learning from her mentors and her students, opening her heart and hands to share what she has gained with others. Drawing from her own experience of healing and increased awareness, she looks to educate and turn you on to your own personal journey.

I am an inherent believer in discovering one’s gifts and giving them away. My goal is to pay forward the gifts that yoga has brought me. Discovering yoga was the culmination of many roads I’ve taken as part of a transformational process I have been going through on my life’s path. It is that which I know will continue to sustain my journey. I cannot imagine life without it. I have a new found consciousness and awareness of my life and practicing yoga has been a vital part in fortifying this.

Janette Petrovich

Janette’s interest in yoga began in 2011 after her first class, finding her mind and body at ease. She continued practicing and received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certification at Yoga Culture of Danbury in 2014. Her yoga studies have been supplemented with her knowledge of the body from her Associate’s Degree in Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Janette values love, honesty, happiness and equality, and believes everyone should be treated and spoken to on the same level. She wants her students to fully understand the proper alignment of poses to avoid injury, as well as see the beauty in each aspect of yoga and everything in life. Janette believes that everyone can be happy if they take a step back, see the beauty all around them and believe that they are all they need.
